"Historian Danny Morris Agrees To Write Foreword"

I just received an e-mail from aviation author and historian Danny Morris ("Aces and Wingmen II: Men, Machines and Units of the United States Army Air Force") and he has agreed to write a foreword for the Fightin' 79th CD-ROM. Since beginning of this project I have had numerous lists of those who I would like to have do this, but only Danny's name kept making the cut each time. I was pleasantly surprised that he responded to my request less than two hours after I had contacted him.

Danny Morris Born in England on April 5, 1940, Danny Morris' lifelong interest in aviation history, especially that of the wartime 8th Air Force, led him to create his first work, Aces & Wingmen, in 1972. Today it is highly sought after by many aviation enthusiasts. He has become good friends with many of the pilots he has written about and he has been an invaluable resource to many of the historians whose work he helped inspire through his pioneering efforts. In 1989 he released Aces and Wingmen II, which, like it's predecessor, is considered a "must have" for all aviation historian's libraries.

I am not only honored that Mr. Morris (ed.: he says he is just "Danny", never "Mr.") has agreed to do this, I am humbled. He has also submitted what is my favorite photograph ever taken of Jack Ilfrey for inclusion and he sent me a 1986 first day cover featuring Jack and two of his aircraft; which is a gift that I will always treasure.

I would also like to take this chance to wish my love and partner in co-habitational bliss, Nancy Barker, a very Happy Birthday!

Don't forget, we're taking reserve orders now, just e-mail us for more information!

As I explained in the announcement, Danny is an English aviation historian and author who has written two highly sought after books on World War II aviation. He is also a genuine and down to earth gentleman who has been quite supportive throughout the process of creating this multimedia CD-ROM.
