"The Fightin' 79th" CD-ROM Updates
On Friday, the 18th., Bill Holcomb came over and we did a little impromptu beta testing on the CD. I am happy to report everything worked well and that all indications are there won't be any problems with systems that have Windows Service Pack 2 installed on them.
Last week the CD containing Ryan Short's excellent interview with Capt. Cliff Kies arrived at the office and I'm currently editing and transcribing it for inclusion. Again, I can't thank Ryan enough for allowing me to use this interview!
We're also in the midst of going through and editing a huge amount of public domain wartime film footage so that clips can be included. Most of these will go in the "Life During Wartime" section but there has been one incredible clip of some unidentified USAAF gun camera footage thus far and there may be more.
I have also been in contact with Glenn Mittler, a Glenn Miller fan and historian. He has graciously opened up his archives of vintage Miller images so that a few can be included in the section on the October, 1944 King's Cliffe concert.
Once again it looks like I'll have to push the debut of the site back a few more days. Between all of the incoming material, my workload and a touch of the flu I've fallen behind on everything and I hope to be caught back up by week's end.
Don't forget, we're taking reserve orders now, just e-mail us for more information!
