"The Fightin' 79th" CD-ROM Updates
I am proud to announce that there are now two of the most historically accurate and well researched IL-2 skins available on the Extras page of the website. I heard back from ATS 42 and he has graciously given the go ahead to offer his skin for Capt. Lindol Graham's "Susie" along side of the excellent skin for Capt. Glenn Webb's "Glen GaryGuy" by Hammerd. These two men are known throughout the flight sim community as some of the finest out there.
Before I go any further I would like to take this chance to wish my good buddy and fellow researcher Roger Wilkie all the best during his upcoming surgery and recovery. I've mentioned Roger's work earlier in this blog, he has almost single-handedly uncovered a portion of the 20th Fighter Group's history that even the US Air Force had somehow overlooked or forgotten about.
I've come across an excellent resource for information on Capt. Ernest Fiebelkorn and both his profile and virtual gallery have grown tremendously in the past three days. The man who built the model of Fieb's P-51 "June Nite" for the Michigan's Own Military and Space Museum, Chris Rottiers, has promised us photos of the display.
I have also discovered some info on the post-war lives of two pilots whose profiles were somewhat lacking, so those pages will finally be crossed off the "to do list" as well. Said list is getting smaller everyday and reserve orders are still coming in, so things are looking up more than they ever were before.
Don't forget, we're taking reserve orders now, just e-mail us for more information!
