  "The Fightin' 79th" CD-ROM Updates

I had yet another very busy day yesterday. I received the Missing Air Crew Report for Melvin H. Orr and now his profile is completed, Andrew Donnellan sent me some more information on Edward Crutchley, so his profile is getting close to completion and I also heard back from several query e-mails I sent out over the weekend. With a little luck alot of new information will be forthcoming from all over the country!

Tom and Jes didn't have any luck with the footage sent to us by Mark Skinner but in steps Tom Skinner, who frequently visits the website and saw the entry below. He has graciously offered us the use of his copy. Folks, the Skinner family have really gone well beyond any expectations with submissions and support for this project and I can't thank them enough!

While we are on the subject of going beyond all expectations, I should also mention Lance Armstrong, the son of John L. Armstrong. Lance and I have been swapping e-mails for quite awhile now and he has provided so many scans and photos I am having to rearrange his father's virtual gallery on an almost daily basis. In addition to this we have an ongoing conversation about our experiences as musicians that has really brought some great old memories back to light.

In fact this would be a good time to thank all of you who have submitted material to the project, you have taken this project to places I never envisioned when it began and much of the Fightin' 79th's history might well have disappeared without your help!

I hope everyone has a great first day of summer and don't forget the sunscreen if you're outside for any length of time!

Don't forget, we're taking reserve orders now, just e-mail us for more information!
