"The Fightin' 79th" CD-ROM Updates
Just another quick update. I received the package of photos and information from Lela Barnard earlier today and it was better than I ever expected, a total of nine new photos, a document and enough new information (some in Don Barnard's own words) to finish up his profile.
I also finished up the Escape and Evasion section with the story of Jack Ilfrey's evasion through enemy-held France just a few days after D-Day and some excellent images. I have also included a hilarious story that Art Heiden passed on to me that Jack had told him years ago.
I also received a great scan of Ken Skinner's Air Medal certificate from his grandson, Tom. Tom is a frequent visitor to the site here and an avid supporter of this project, without him and his uncle Mark the CD would not be the same.
Just 3 weeks to the start of beta testing...
