"The Fightin' 79th" CD-ROM Updates

Well folks, the beta copies are burned and will be in the mail sometime tomorrow. They're a day late, I know, but I spent over 14 hours yesterday tweaking the code and including some information I found earlier this week. By the time I was finished with all of that I simply didn't have the energy to do much else.

At this point I am planning to spend the next week or so going through the microfilm at the local library to see what new material might be gleaned from it. Following that I'll finish up on the remaining portions that I haven't finished writing and I will finish transcribing the last interview I plan to include.

I spoke with Professor Laramie Roush recently and he is planning to record a third piece for the CD as well as possibly doing an extended version of one of the songs he has already given me. Not only is Larry one of the people responsible for this whole project getting off the ground, his music gives an added dimension to the CD and his support over the past two years has been much appreciated, believe me.

Part of me feels like I am getting ready to send my kid off to school for the first time, but I'm also excited to be so near the release of the CD and I'm anxious to hear everyone's reaction.
